▼ビデオに録画しておいたフジテレビ「 ザ・ノンフィクション 」を見た。今回は「沖縄 引き裂かれた兄弟ヤンバルの森で何があったのか」。６５年前、太平洋戦争で戦場となった沖縄の山のなかで、実の兄弟が、かたやアメリカ兵、かたや「 鉄血勤皇隊 」の一人として向き合うことになった。その経緯を描く。当時１６歳だった東江（あがりえ）康治氏（今は８１歳。後に名桜大学初代学長）、２６歳だった東江盛勇氏（同じく91歳）、二人とも幸いにして今も存命でそれぞれアメリカと沖縄に住んでいる。
▼山に隠れていた家族と彼らを捜してた兄のフランク・ヒガシこと東江盛勇氏を引き合わせたのは、やはり同じように山に隠れていた女の子とたまたま山のなかで出くわしたことだったという。しかもその子に見覚えがあった。彼女に対して東江盛勇氏は「あなたセイク屋のとこの子でしょ」と、方言で思わず呼びかけたそうだ。そしてその女の子が山に帰り、隠れていた家族に伝えた。弟の康治氏は米兵との銃撃戦で負傷して生死の境をさまよっていた。東江氏の父はその知らせを聞いて決断し、周囲の制止を振り切って、一人山を下りたという。その行動が ...
